Released in 1976 as part of the USDA’s breeding program, Willamette spent years as the most widely grown aroma variety in the US. A daughter of UK Fuggle, Willamette expresses similar earthy, spicy, floral flavors. Still a favorite among traditional brewers, this hop is best suited to English-style ales, especially porters and stouts.
